History of Maso Merk

History of Maso Merk

Maso Merk dates back to the year 1762. Life at that time revolved mainly around agricultural activities. In the early 1950s, Maso Merk transformed into a renowned guesthouse with over 40 beds. After various expansions by Matteo Runggaldier and his son, Luis Runggaldier, the guesthouse was completely destroyed by a fire in 1980. The house was rebuilt, but the necessary work to continue the accommodation business was not completed.

In 2005, the property passed to Oswald Runggaldier (the eldest son of Luis Runggaldier), who resumed the renovation work. In 2006, the new Mountain Residence Merk was reopened. The residence is managed by Oswald, Renata, and their mother, Angelina, who, with great passion and dedication, strive to meet all your needs.
